Since 1983, I have helped a broad array of individuals and families with different backgrounds make life-changing financial decisions. After growing up in the Midwest, I moved to California in 1977 and enrolled in the Pacific’s Eberhardt School of Business, graduating in 1979. My background in marketing and accounting formed an ideal launching pad for my financial services career.
Holding financial education as a top priority, I have attained three designations that I believe provides me the best opportunity to help you pursue your goals:
Certified Financial Planner™ certification – identifies individuals who have met the experience requirements of the CFP® Board, have successfully completed financial planning coursework, and have passed the CFP® Certification Examination.
Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designation – identifies individuals who have met the experience requirements of the Center for Fiduciary Studies, a division of Fi360, have gained a fundamental understanding of the principles of fiduciary responsibility and processes for meeting a defined standard of care, and have passed the AIF® examination.
Certified Portfolio Manager® designation – attained through the Academy of Certified Portfolio Managers after completing the prerequisite coursework at Columbia University, covering topics such as portfolio management, financial statement analysis, corporate finance, fixed income analysis, fiduciary responsibility, and more.
I believe in maintaining a balance in my life, and have remained involved with the University of the Pacific Eberhardt School of Business’ advisory board. I have also served on many charitable organizations and coached football at St. Mary’s High School, which was very rewarding.
I enjoy spending time with my new wife, Emily, who directs a physical therapy practice in Lodi, and a new daughter, Gabi, an energetic 12-year-old. Together, we keep up with the older kids: my daughter, Allie, who is a recent Animal Science graduate from Southwestern University in Austin and is now living and working in San Luis Obispo; and my son, Matt, a former student athlete at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, now married and working in Banking.
